My Work: I manage a financial coaching and savings program in Lynn, Massachusetts for a nonprofit called Compass Working Capital, that serves families living in subsidized housing. Our goal is to support our clients to build assets and financial capabilities as a pathway to greater economic opportunity, and out of poverty.

My Roots: I am originally from the Dominican Republic – my family has Hispanic and Arabic roots.

My Passion: Law & Finance

My Hero: My grandfather – Jose Isaac

My Favorite Quote: “Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent.” -Calvin Coolidge

My Favorite Personal Finance Tool/Resource: Mint.com and the Clarity App

My Advice:

  • To Someone Considering Becoming a Financial Counselor/Coach: Doing your job with love is as important as having a broad knowledge of personal finance.
  • To Someone Going Through the AFC Program: Study hard. Read all the assigned books thoroughly. Coaching experience is a huge help. And most importantly, never give up!

My way of “Meeting People Where They Are”: I share my own life experiences
