Headshot of Michele GodfreyGreetings from the AFCPE President’s Office!

It feels like winter lasted incredibly long, but now Spring has finally arrived! During what seemed like the longest cold season ever, the AFCPE staff, Board of Directors, and Task Forces have been working hard to bring you another exceptional year of services and opportunities to enhance the AFCPE® brand.

First things first – April is Financial Literacy Month! AFCPE has already begun to recognize Financial Literacy Month on our Real Money, Real Experts Podcast. Check out Episode #50 featuring Laura Levine, the current President and CEO of the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. Listen to Laura’s inspiring story on her career in Financial Literacy and learn about actionable steps AFC® professionals can take to become involved in helping promote youth financial literacy in their own communities. As the month continues, be sure to share your news, events, and other activities you are participating in to promote Financial Literacy Month.

Grow with AFCPE®

One of the highlights of 2022 will be when we all assemble in Orlando, Florida, for our 2022 Symposium.

It has been way too long since we last met in person, and I am personally looking forward to connecting with so many of you. The Symposium offers an excellent opportunity for professionals to share what they have been working on over the past year. One way to do this is by becoming a Symposium presenter, and the Invitation to Present is currently live! Follow this link to submit your proposal and help us make this our strongest Symposium yet.

Were you looking for another opportunity to blossom? Well, you’re in luck. We are also looking for strategic leaders who are passionate about our organization’s mission and ensuring our goals are being met. The Board of Directors is currently seeking nominations or applicants for the following areas: Financial Industry and Service/Nonprofit. For additional details, follow this link.

The Value of an AFC® – Celebrating #30yearsofAFC

I consider it a privilege to have earned the AFC® credential, and I am truly thankful that this opportunity was afforded to me by the FINRA Investor Education Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship program. As an AFC®, I can personally attest to how this designation has changed my life by providing a skill set that supports my mission of promoting financial literacy, flexible career opportunities, and positively making a difference in the lives of others. As we continue to celebrate #30yearsofAFC, I invite you to celebrate with me by sharing your story, seeking new opportunities to utilize your credential, mentoring/coaching a new or aspiring AFC, and taking daily steps to enrich the lives of others.

We will continue this 30-year celebration throughout the entire year. Throughout this time, I invite you to take advantage of the many opportunities the AFCPE staff has made available for you to enhance your skills, such as taking an Essentials course (which is currently discounted in honor of our 30-year celebration for the entire month of April)!

I wish you all Peace & Blessings,

Michele
