In recent years, the growing interest in digital assets paired with the ease of apps on phones that allows users to buy and sell easily led many to lose money from investing in digital currency. Just this year, the landscape for digital currency has changed dramatically and has lost two-thirds of its value. That means losses from everyday investors. During this panel, we invite you to hear from the innovation hubs of U.S. regulators who will describe their agencies’ vision for the future and how they are responding to these emerging market risks while protecting investors.
Panelists:
- Jorge Herrada, director, CFTC Office of Technology Innovation
- Amy Starr, deputy director, FinHub, Securities and Exchange Commission
- Trisha M. Turner, digital assets program manager – project lead, Internal Revenue Service
Moderated by Shivon Kershaw, senior innovation advisor, CFTC Office of Technology Innovation
