Position Description

Volunteers are core to our work at Women’s Money Matters. Our fully remote programs offer a range of volunteer opportunities to help out from anywhere you are. All you need is the desire to help another woman in our community make the most of the money she has.

COACHES are the backbone of our one-on-one coaching model. Coaches are thoughtfully paired with a program participant for the duration of the program. They work directly with their partner to help them reach their specific financial goals.

PRESENTERS facilitate specific workshops as part of the program’s curriculum. For each workshop, we have already developed the lesson plan and materials, presenters are there to lead the lesson and conversation. You select the workshop topic that you feel most passionate about! Presenters can facilitate as many or as few workshops as they would like and are available, so this is a great way for individuals to volunteer who cannot commit to being a coach.

We believe diversity in identity and perspective enriches our programs and helps us better serve our clients. We strongly encourage people of color, LGBTQ-identifying individuals, people with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups to apply to become a coach.

Roles/Responsibilities

COACHES attend our weekly 1.5-hour group presentation sessions on different financial topics during our 10-13 week programs. They also hold weekly 1-1 sessions with participants in between group sessions to support participants in applying learnings to their own lives and making progress on their individual goals for the program.

PRESENTERS can sign up for as many or as few 1.5-hour evening presentation sessions as they would like and on topics of their choice. Presentations are already developed and presenters lead the lesson and conversation around the topic they choose.

Time Commitment/Availability

COACH: 3-4 hours weekly. Total 30-40 hours per 10-13 week program.

PRESENTER: 1.5-hour presentation and any required preparation time (presentations provided in advance of sessions).

Required Qualifications

  • Financial expertise and qualifications not required. Empathy and a sincere desire to help economically marginalized women is required.
