Community-Based Organizations

These organizations fulfill a variety of roles that reflect the needs of their community, often including financial education and counseling in the areas of budgeting, debt elimination, foreclosure prevention, tenant and landlord regulations, and more.

 

Credit Counseling

Assist clients in developing debt management plans, understanding the cost of credit, establishing a budget and adjusting their spending habits.

 

Community and Social Services

Jobs in social work, probation counseling, community counseling, and the like often require you to have the skills to unravel varying situations where financial instability is a factor.

 

Tax Counseling and VITA

Provide tax preparation services for clients, often educating or coaching individuals to be able to file their own taxes. Volunteer efforts are often overseen by site administrators.
