Position Description
No Fear Finances Empowerment Center’s mission is to empower minority & women-owned businesses and to close inequitable wealth gaps by providing affordable & holistic financial services.
Roles/Responsibilities
• Offer Financial Guidance and Counseling: Provide one-on-one advice to individuals aiming to enhance their financial health.
• Conduct Financial Assessments: Evaluate clients' financial situations and develop tailored strategies to achieve their specific goals.
• Weekly or Bi-weekly Check-ins: Schedule and conduct meetings with clients to review progress and adjust plans as necessary.
• Action Item Development: Work with clients to identify practical steps they can take between sessions to move closer to their financial goals.
• Document Progress: Keep detailed records of client interactions, noting progress towards jointly set objectives.
Time Commitment/Availability
• Variable, depending on project needs.
• Expectation: 5 to 10 hours per month.
• Both in-person (Birmingham) and remote opportunities.
• Commitments are aligned with goals set jointly with clients.
Required Qualifications
• Background in finance, accounting, candidates seeking AFC license or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy and a genuine desire to help others improve their financial well-being.
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Strong preference is given to:
• Those already in the financial management or related fields
• Holds or enrolled in financial certification program: Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC), Certified Financial Planner® (CFP)
• Completed Series 65 or similar designation
• Have experience in serving minority and women entrepreneurs.
