Navigating Finances with Valor: Financial Planning Insights for Military Clients
This webinar is Part 2 of FFP’s series on Pro Bono Financial Planning for Military Personnel, Veterans, and Families. In this presentation, Brandy Baxter, AFC®, FFC®, United States Airforce Veteran, will build upon Dick Power, CFP®’s January 18th Presentation about the unique financial circumstances that service members, veterans, and their families face.
As military members transition from service to civilian life, many carry the weight of experiences that significantly impact their well-being, including their financial wellness. Accruing debt is often the norm post-military service, and debt concerns rank top of mind for many veterans. These money and debt problems can create stress that shows up in many ways such as trouble sleeping, worrying about having a place to live, and feeling too embarrassed to request financial guidance.
Brandy Baxter, in conversation with Dick Power, will recap the typical financial profile of military members and the compensation/benefits received, the unique mental health struggles of service members and veterans, resources that greatly support military individuals and their families, and tactics CFP® professional volunteers can use to ensure military members overcome financial barriers and achieve success.
