Mary O'Neill Mini Grant
In honor of Mary O’Neill, a financially capable woman, for the development and implementation of an innovative, high-impact financial education project.
Mary O'Neill
The Mary O’Neill Mini Grant is awarded annually for the development and implementation of an innovative, high-impact financial education project. It is made possible through a generous restricted donation by Dr. Barbara O’Neill, Past President of AFCPE®, in honor of her late mother, Mary O’Neill.
Grant Details:
- The application period is August 18 – September 15.
- An AFCPE Board of Directors selection committee reviews all applications and selects an annual winner.
- Winner is notified by October 1 and announced at AFCPE Symposium.
- Grantee must submit a 1,000 word summary of final results of the mini grant project to AFCPE and present the final project at Symposium the following year.
- If mini grant funds are used to produce written or media materials, grantee should send (3) copies to AFCPE.
- Grant funding must be used directly for program development and implementation, no indirect costs may be allocated in the grant proposal.

2025 Insight to Impact Initiative Grant Recipient
The Insight to Impact Initiative seeks to fund collaborative projects between researchers and practitioners that build connections, develop models, expand understanding of evidence-based practices, and increase access, equity, and capacity for financial professionals and communities served.
Preferred Projects:
Initiatives that address AFCPE Core Competencies, center on nonprofit entities or AFC® professionals, serve financially at-risk or underrepresented communities, and include a path to sustainability or scale.
Current Status:
Funding for the Insight to Impact Grant is not currently available. We remain committed to this initiative and will announce future cycles when funding is secured.
