Empower Women Through Financial Coaching: Volunteer with W4W Money Talks 2025

Position Description
Join us in making a significant impact on women’s lives by becoming a volunteer coach for the W4W Money Talks 2025 program. This program, running from April to November, empowers women with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to achieve financial success and build lasting wealth. As a coach, you’ll play a vital role in guiding participants through their financial journeys, providing personalized support and encouragement. Additionally, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn directly from Jessica Perrone, AFC® and founder Her Financial IQ, a respected personal finance and investing expert, enhancing your own financial knowledge and coaching skills.

About Money Talks:
Her Financial IQ brings its impactful “Money Talks” programming to non-profit organizations nationwide, including Working 4 Women (W4W). This program is an innovative initiative that combines:

  • Her Financial IQ (HerFinIQ) Live Workshops: Educational sessions led by experts.
  • One-on-One Coaching: Personalized guidance and support for participants.
  • Ongoing Community Support: A network for women to share experiences and offer mutual support.

About Working 4 Women (W4W):
Working 4 Women (W4W) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women from marginalized communities reach financial independence. We connect women with employment opportunities, invest in their training and education, and advocate for the removal of barriers hindering their progress in the workplace. The Money Talks program is a key component of W4W’s commitment to empowering women to achieve their full potential.

Roles/Responsibilities
As a volunteer coach, you will:

  • Provide one-on-one coaching sessions to assigned participants 1x per month, April – November.
  • Help participants apply workshop concepts to their personal finances.
  • Guide participants in using the “Her Financial Plan eWorkbook.”
  • Offer encouragement and practical advice on budgeting, debt management, savings, and more.
  • Support participants in achieving their financial goals.
  • Help facilitate a safe and supportive environment.

Time Commitment/Availability
Commitment to providing one-on-one coaching sessions 1x per month, April – November, and 1 training session. The schedule is included below:

  • Coaches Training Session: April 15th @ 7pm
  • Kick-off Session #1: April 16th – Meet Your Support: Icebreaker and Program Introduction
  • Coaching Session #2: May 21st @ 7pm
  • Coaching Session #3: June 18th @ 7pm
  • Coaching Session #4: July 23rd @ 7pm
  • Coaching Session #5: August 20th @ 7pm
  • Coaching Session #6: September 17th @ 7pm
  • Coaching Session #7: October 15th @ 7pm
  • Graduation Session: November 5th – A Celebration of Achievements @ 7pm

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of the AFC certification exam (AFC candidate) or current AFC certification.
  • Previous Coaching or Mentoring Experience: Experience in coaching, mentoring, or teaching, even if it’s in a non-financial context.
  • Commitment to providing one-on-one coaching sessions 1x per month, April – November, and 1 training session.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive Attitude: Approachable and encouraging.
  • Passion for empowering women through financial education.
  • Proficiency with Virtual Communication Tools: Advanced comfort and experience with Zoom, online collaboration tools, and other virtual communication platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Coaching or Mentoring Experience: Experience in coaching, mentoring, or teaching, even if it’s in a non-financial context.
  • Experience Working with Marginalized Communities: Demonstrated experience or understanding of the challenges faced by women from marginalized communities.
  • Bilingual or Multilingual Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in languages spoken by the target population.
  • Experience with Financial Literacy Programs: Prior involvement in financial literacy programs or initiatives.
  • Empathy and Patience: Ability to listen attentively, understand individual needs, and provide patient guidance.

How to Submit Experience Hours:
Experience may be submitted in the “Counseling & Coaching” category with the Experience Verification Form uploaded as supporting documentation. If the experience is completed under the supervision of an AFC, it can be reported as 1.5 hours for every 1 hour of experience.
