Lucy Delgadillo

Lucy M. Delgadillo, Ph.D., CMC, CPC, CFSW (she, her, hers) is a consumer scientist and an eclectic scholar with an infinite passion for learning.  Her education comprises of five post-secondary degrees. One bachelor’s degree in Journalism and one in Broadcasting and Sociology. One Master’s degree in Political Sciences and an equivalent degree in Communicational Organization. Her terminal degree is a Ph.D. in Consumer Sciences. During Lucy’s 21 years at Utah State University, her leadership, research, teaching, and service have focused on financial literacy for individuals and families and different financial interventions, including financial education, housing and financial counseling, and financial coaching.  She’s published more than 100 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings, and several book chapters. She has made over 75 presentations at international, national, regional, and local conferences.

Lucy’s education as a financial counselor and financial coach trained her to advance an agenda that fosters a culture of peace. A culture of peace aims for respect, diversity, tolerance, sustainability, equity, inclusion and empowerment.
