The Challenge
Rachel Booth, a Utah State University Senior and Knowledge Bowl participant, was excited to apply her education to a financial counseling career. Though eager, she was uncertain of the career opportunities available after graduation.
The Solution
Beyond competing in Knowledge Bowl, Rachel saw Symposium as a pathway toward community-building and networking. She met people who shared her passion for strengthening financial self-reliance for individuals and families. Through these interactions, she was struck by how many industries the AFC® could impact. One such conversation took place with Magellan Financial, the sponsor of Knowledge Bowl.
The Results

Symposium Career Win:
- Rachel was offered and accepted a Personal Financial Counselor position with Magellan Financial

The Impact of Competing in Knowledge Bowl:
- Rachel received a complimentary Symposium registration and a year-long AFCPE Membership
 - She earned access to the AFC Online Study Guide, 1 attempt at the AFC exam, and up to 45 AFC experience hours

“Through Symposium, I found my first job out of college! Without Symposium, I am not sure I would have been able to find a job in what I love, financial counseling. And now I have that and a new adventure living in Alaska, too! If you are looking to for opportunities to seize, the symposium is a great place to be.”
