Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this self-study program, participants will:
LO1: Understand the principles of habit formation and how they can be applied to personal finance: Students will learn the core concepts from “Atomic Habits” and apply them to their financial habits, such as budgeting, saving, and investing.
LO2: Develop effective strategies for building positive financial habits: Students will learn practical techniques for helping clients implement new habits and break bad financial habits. They will explore strategies like habit stacking, habit tracking, and creating an environment that supports healthy financial behaviors.
LO3: Explore the relationship between mindset and financial success: Students will delve into the mindset and belief systems that influence financial decision-making and learn strategies for cultivating a growth mindset and positive money mindset. They will explore topics like financial confidence, overcoming limiting beliefs, and developing resilience in the face of financial challenges.
LO4: Learn techniques for assisting others in setting and achieving financial goals: Students will learn how to set realistic and meaningful financial goals, break them down into actionable steps, and create a system of accountability. They will explore the concept of “habit goals” and how small habits can lead to significant financial progress over time.
LO5: Understand the science of how habits work to better work with clients to help them reduce bad habits and improve good financial habits: Students will learn the four simple steps of cue, craving, response, and reward and how to apply them to financial habits.
Time Commitment:
Six weeks for 30 minutes each week. (15 minute optional continue the conversation after the 30 minutes)
