To help protect the clients you serve, and in recognition of National Consumer Protection Week, Consumer Action is offering the free “Protecting Consumers from Emerging Scams” webinar, featuring three accomplished speakers who will provide you with knowledge and resources to better serve your community:

Andrew Rayo, chief of staff and consumer education specialist with FTC’s Division of Consumer and Business Education, will discuss scams that are currently being reported to the agency, plus resources for reporting fraud and getting help.

Melissa Lanning, executive director of the Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Trust, will discuss emerging scams, best practices for helping consumers avoid fraud, and scam prevention resources; and

Ally Armeson, executive director of FightCybercrime.org, will discuss how community advocates can best serve consumers affected by severe cybercrime, while understanding the shame, isolation and stigma experienced by fraud victims.
