It is estimated that nearly 1/3 of all incidents of identity theft are perpetrated by a family member of the victim; this is known as familial identity theft.  This webinar will provide participants with insights on demographic characteristics of familial identity theft victims along with information on common consequences and experiences of these victims.  Participants will learn about the identity theft victim support services and resources that familial identity theft victims perceive to be helpful as well as those that are perceived to be unhelpful.  Strategies that financial counselors and planners can use to support familial identity theft victims will be shared.

Presenter: Axton Betz-Hamilton, AFC®, CRPC®, AWMA®
