Money Languages: How to Improve Financial Communication within Couples

Couples can greatly benefit from financial counseling to work through complex financial issues, whether they are preparing for the next step in their relationship or have been together for many years. The Five Money Languages was designed in parallel with Gary Chapman’s Five Love Languages to help couple clients better understand how to communicate with one another about the complex issue of money. Applying these money languages in your practice will assist financial counselors and coaches in facilitating effective, empowering, and enlightening money conversations with couple clients that might otherwise be too difficult to have—or too easy to avoid altogether.

The Five Money Languages will be presented in this session, along with four additional relationship theories or modalities that may further deepen communication between partners and between partners and their financial counselor.
