How the Fair Credit Reporting Act Affects Financial Counseling

This session will overview topics within the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) that are important for counselors. There will be discussion of consumer rights, including right to view reports and dispute inaccurate information, with some attention given to understanding date of first delinquency. Attendees should expect to take away a broad understanding of the FCRA while building out the knowledge to help answer participants’ credit questions.
