From Small Steps to Lasting Habits: Lessons from the Plootus 21-Day Financial Habits Challenge
November 12 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST
$50What happens when financial wellness education moves beyond information and into action—one small step at a time?
Join Plootus and AFCPE®️ for an inside look at the design, implementation, and evaluation of the 21-Day Financial Habits Challenge, developed through the Mary O’Neill Mini Grant. The Challenge used daily, low-effort financial actions delivered by email to help participants build awareness, reduce financial stress, and develop sustainable financial habits.
In this webinar, we’ll share what we learned from 368 participants, including:
How a 21-day, micro-action approach was designed around behavioral science principles.
- Which financial habits participants found easiest to sustain.
- What the data revealed about financial confidence, stress, savings automation, and habit continuation.
- Why the Financial Survival Number emerged as one of the most impactful exercises.
- What worked, what fell short—including the 63% completion rate versus the original 80% goal—and what we would change in the next iteration.
- Practical recommendations and tools for financial professionals interested in adapting the model for their own clients or communities.
Participants will leave with actionable ideas for designing financial wellness interventions that turn education into small, repeatable behaviors—and behaviors into lasting habits.
