Everyone knows someone who is struggling to repay education loans. However, borrowers well into repayment of their student loans have few places to turn for unbiased diagnostic assistance with understanding their available federal repayment options.  This webinar is designed for counselors who already know the repayment options and are interested in learning about a Student Loan Borrower Repayment Counseling pilot program that led to improved loan repayment behaviors.

Presenter: Vicki Jacobson

Vicki Jacobson is the director of the Center for Excellence in Financial Counseling at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She recently directed the Center’s demonstration project in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of an evidence-based Student Loan Borrower Repayment Counseling pilot program.

Vicki previously served as the president of The Foundation for Credit Education prior to its transition as a center at the university. During her tenure with the foundation, she worked with student loan law experts to design and deliver student loan borrower repayment training to nonprofit credit and housing counselors. Vicki has also served in various management roles for the former regional nonprofit Consumer Credit Counseling Service of St. Louis directing the development of numerous award-winning counseling and education programs, including the development of the Council for Economic Education’s K-12 Personal Finance Economics curriculum, now known as Financial Fitness for Life.

Vicki earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a M.Ed. from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
