Are kitchen tables across America littered with overdue bills? Are consumer credit accounts being turned over to debt collectors? What can consumers do when faced with more bills than money? How will the new debt collection regulations impact consumers? Let’s discuss!

On Tuesday, Jan. 25, Consumer Action will host a webinar on kitchen table economics—dealing with debt and debt collection—that will feature these speakers:

  • April Kuehnhoff, an attorney with the National Consumer Law Center, who will discuss the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the new CFPB regulations that amend the Act, as well as consumer rights and how the new rules will impact consumers
  • Vickie Elisa, a community educator and trainer with the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement, who will discuss what consumers can do when there are more bills than money
