Join this practical deep dive into how financial counselors can connect with and coach new immigrants on their money related goals and behaviors. You will hear a true story from a new immigrant, learn to address new immigrants’ anxiety and lack of awareness about the US financial system, and glean insights on how to provide personalized money coaching. You will understand how to be a valuable ally to new immigrants at your workplace, especially when they start a new job after moving to the US. By attending this session, you will be significantly better equipped to help new immigrants with their money goals as they strive to adapt to the cultural differences in their new country. Finally, through meaningful reflection during the session and post-session, you will have the opportunity to enhance your cultural awareness and expand the reach of your financial counseling client audience and your counseling toolkit.

Presenters: Catalina Laschon, Meghan McInnes, and Jaqueline Kelly
