Dr. Chaffin will discuss what biases influence professionals and clients, and how we can overcome these biases as part of the financial planning process.
Financial professionals will have a better understanding of behavioral issues that influence expert biases, client behavior, and how to develop strategies to overcome these biases and help clients reach their financial goals.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Chaffin, Director of Academic Initiatives for the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning, will discuss the research around the Academic Research Colloquium, Financial Planning Review, and the book, Client Psychology. Client Psychology, defined in his book as the biases, behaviors, and perceptions that impact client decision-making and financial well-being, is taking on greater importance as the transactional component of the profession disappears through technology.
