WAYS for Life is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides wraparound services according to the National Wraparound Initiative to youth 15-25 years of age who have been touched by foster care, homelessness or at risk of being homeless. We help them get the services they want, including housing, education, medical, mental health, legal, etc. Candidates will provide financial counseling to these youth, to include budgeting, banking, obtaining credit, debt reduction, basic credit report analysis, identity theft assistance, and other financial wellness issues as they arise. All counseling will be under the supervision of an experienced AFC. Candidates will receive training on Trauma-informed care. Background checks, including finger printing, may be required.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Candidates will be expected to develop a rapport with clients, provide financial counseling to youth using the skills learned during AFC training, to include budgeting, banking, obtaining credit, debt reduction, basic credit report analysis, identity theft assistance, and other financial wellness issues as they arise.
- Some public speaking (teaching classes) may be required. All counseling will be under the supervision of an experienced AFC. Candidates will receive training on Trauma-informed care. Background checks, including finger printing, may be required.
Time Commitment/Availability
- Drop-in center for youth is open Monday – Thursday 10-4. Appointments can be made according to your schedule. Anything outside of drop-in center hours must be pre-approved. No set time commitment is required, but a set schedule is better for our youth.
