SUMMARY:FTA: Supporting Clients through Tax Season
DESCRIPTION:Approved for 1 CEU for AFCPE certified professionals \nTis the season for filing taxes\, and for many clients\, that means ’tis the season for anxiety\, avoidant behaviors\, and denial as well. Financial Therapists are uniquely positioned to counsel clients during this time by anticipating client resistance in a few key areas and supporting clients as they plan\, reframe\, and navigate this season. This one hour webinar will review the primary drivers of client anxiety related to taxes and share best practices for supporting clients as they navigate each challenge. As part of this webinar\, participants will: \n\nRecognize key tax changes that may affect clients in 2019.\nIdentify common behaviors and fears clients may present as a result of taxes.\nApply best practices and solutions to each client situation.\nIdentify ways to support clients as they prepare for next year’s tax season.\n\nThe information presented is anecdotal\, based on the presenter’s experience in working with a large community of creative entrepreneurs\, many of whom loathe the tax process. It will conclude with resources Financial Therapists may share with clients to help them embrace tax season (and prepare for the next one). \nPresenter: Elaine Grogran Luttrull\, CPA-PFS\, AFC® is the founder of Minerva Financial Arts\, a company devoted to building financial literacy and empowerment in creative individuals and organizations. Her workshops and presentations have been featured nationally. Elaine teaches at the Columbus College of Art & Design\, where she served as the Department Head for Business & Entrepreneurship from 2014-2018. Previously\, Elaine served as the Director of Financial Analysis for The Juilliard School and in the Transaction Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young in New York. Elaine is the author of Arts & Numbers and contributed regularly to Professional Artist magazine. She is based in Columbus\, Ohio where she serves on the boards of the Short North Alliance\, Social Ventures\, and the Financial Therapy Association.
