Building a Strong, Financial Literate Community by Hosting a Community-Wide Financial Literacy Event
AFCPE Virtual Member Meet Ups
Designed for AFCPE members, by AFCPE members.
Introducing you to new ideas and resources, while connecting you with AFCPE members across the country.
Cultivating and nurturing a strong, financially literate community has never been more critical than it is today. AFCPE members should carry the banner for financial literacy in their communities: be the catalysts to encouraging long-term shifts in attitudes and behaviors, raising awareness about financial capability across sectors, and making a positive, widespread impact on community development. Members with AFCPE accreditation can no longer be the best kept secret in their communities.
With the proliferation of products, services, and brands, consumers are uncertain or unaware of how to identify which type of financial professional can best enable them to align their personal, professional and financial goals. By building a financially supportive community within your community, you will help to ensure individuals and families have access to the education, skills, resources and support needed to make sound decisions that allow them to achieve and sustain financial security.
You do not have to do it alone. Partnering with other organizations, corporations, agencies, institutions, and others will create a community of caring. Tapping into national and regional programs; such as America Saves and the Houston Money Week, together you will be building a community that will transform your local community into a more vibrant and welcoming place for all to call home.
The truth is, there's nothing magical about putting on a well-run professional community event. Being organized, putting the power of collaboration into action, doing the right things at the right time, and understanding a few key strategies will lead to success.
Let’s talk about it!
