COLUMBUS, OhioMarch 30, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education® (AFCPE®), which administers standards and accreditation for Accredited Financial Counselors® (AFC®), Financial Fitness Coaches™ (FFC™) and other professionals in the field of financial counseling and education, will hold an in-person news event at 1 p.m. April 3rd in the Ohio Statehouse to: (1) release the findings of a major survey of Ohio adults about saving and investing for retirement; and (2) unveil an ambitious statewide investor education program.

Launching in May, the “Building the Bridge” Ohio investor education program is a collaboration between AFCPE, the Ohio Department of Commerce – Division of Securities, the Investor Protection Trust (IPT), and Detroit Public Television (DPTV).  The statewide campaign will feature the airing on Ohio public television stations of the DPTV documentary “When I’m 65,” three community events (Columbus in May, Cleveland in July, and Cincinnati/Daytonin September) and pro bono financial counseling and planning.
