My Work: Providing financial education, coaching and credit counseling services to clients who are focused on building wealth. I also educate children and young adults regarding personal finance and preparation for adulthood.

My Roots: Raleigh, NC

My Passion: Providing my community with the knowledge needed to increase their credit scores, reduce debt and build wealth.

My Hero: Oprah Winfrey, Business Mogul and Philanthropist

My Favorite Quote: “We can let circumstances rule us, or we can take charge and rule our lives from within.”- Earl Nightingale

My Favorite Personal Finance Tool/Resource: Books! I love to read. Other favorite finance resources are online calculators and my fellow Financial Professionals.

My Advice:

  • To Someone Considering Becoming a Financial Counselor/Coach: Understand “why” you want to become a financial counselor/coach and keep that in front of you during the challenging days.
  • To Someone Going Through the AFC Program: Pay special attention to the process questions in the study material. The AFC webinar review sessions were extremely helpful as well.

My way of “Meeting People Where They Are”: Being able to relate and remember that there was once a time when my finances were not great and I needed a listening ear and guidance without judgement.
