Mary Spear
Ms. Spear serves as a Financial Educator/Counselor with Fleet & Family Support Centers of Hampton Roads for over 10 1/2 years, dedicated to helping sailors meet their financial obligations and to become successful financially. Her work focuses on providing information and referral, education and training and one-on-one budget counseling to active duty personnel, reservists, retirees and their families. She has been a member of AFCPE® since 2002, holds the Accredited Financial Counselor® designation, and is currently serving her third year as Awards Committee Chairperson. Ms. Spear also served as the Personal Financial Management Military Readiness Program Analyst for Commander, Navy Installations Command (Headquarters) and the Navy’s Military Saves Action Officer.
Prior to working for Fleet and Family, she was a branch manager for Princess Anne/Cenit Bank, worked with Navy Marine Corp Relief Society as a budget interviewer and taught Seven Steps to Financial Freedom for her church.
She is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN, where she earned a Bachelors degree of Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance.
